  1. Kris and Lou, thank you for allowing my husband and I to deliver some turkeys to some extremely grateful neighbors this year. We had two neighbors on our street that just got laid off from their jobs. One neighbor’s husband not only lost his job, but just got out of the hospital with a severe knee injury. They have two small adorable children, and it was such a blessing and honor to be servants. I love to see people of God at work to do His Will. Hey, it’s fun, too! :) We love being a servants, and we know that you do too! Watch out…this ministry may very well explode…PRAISE GOD!!! May His Will be done! Much love and blessings to the Rhoades family, and those involved before they Rhoades even get to the dinners! :)

  3. Kris (Chalice) UNITED STATES says:

Every year I am more and more thankful that God has allowed us to be a part of helping His people. It amazes me how many people have no family to spend Thanksgiving with or have no way to provide a special dinner for their family. Our of our abundance we should help those who are in need. It’s the way God intended it to be.

This is about the 4th year we have been part of the Turkey Distribution and it never ceases to amaze me how God works it all out that we find homes for every dinner. This year our final count was 55.

The “Turkey Lady” (as she has been called around here) has a tradition in that Lou has to sing a song when he picks up the load of turkeys. (Maybe all of Chalice can go next year and give her an even better song!) They took pictures of us with the turkeys and the volunteers that spent countless hours putting together all the dinners. Then we loaded up the van and it was packed floor to ceiling with turkeys and fixings.

After a 40 minute drive back to McKeesport people were waiting at our office to get their turkey blessing. Many hands this year made light work of the deliveries. “She gets one, he gets eight, they get four…” Thank you to everyone that helped deliver turkeys.

It’s a greater blessing to be a blessing to someone else! And this Thanksgiving I am truly blessed!
