Renaissance 2 [0]
As we were preparing to leave the Renaissance Festival I noticed at the exit a set of stocks with the inscription “You reap what you sow.” I remember thinking how fitting this is even in a secular situation. All the things we do in all our life hang around us to form what character we have. When we do stuff that we know is wrong it takes hold of us like the stocks and prevents us from having the freedom to move about in the things of God. But I have good news! According to Galatians 5:1 “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.”
So we have that way out of bondage, out of slavery to sin, out of the ways of darkness. Hallelujah! It is not God’s will that we should suffer as it so plainly states in my favorite Bible verse in Jeremiah 29:11″For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
So as long as we walk in His will and His ways, we have a future to look forward too!
THANK YOU GOD!
