WOW! What an end and beginning to 2005 and 2006, respectfully. It has been a while since last I wrote here, and I really haven’t written blog type stuff in the past but spewed things from my mind. Scary!!!!!:nailbiting:

Kris was kind when she set up the site and created a section called “Thoughts by ……” (I must say that Kris has done a terrific job on the entire website. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK:up:) I fell straight into the trap. (not that Kris was trying to trap anyone) When you see a phrase “Thoughts by Keith” the presumption is that the person has a brain, capable of thinking, or that what’s written afterward was actually worth reading. Although I didn’t use the word, presumption is very close to assuming, and there you have it. Let me try and make it simple. If you thought that “Thoughts by Keith” were actually thoughts you have ASSUMED too much. Shame on you.

I feel the need to make some gray matter noise. DO NOT fall victim to your assumptions “Thoughts by Keith” have in the past, now, and in the future have nothing to do with the thought process and are simple things found under my hat that I put in type. I had many years of piano lessons and I am compelled to exercise all ten fingers, I find that my computer keyboard never makes those strange sounds that the piano use to. (I know it is hard to read at times, I refer you the beginning of this paragraph).

The Well Ministries, the Puppets for the King and Chalice were all busy over the past two months. In December, we were way deep into the Christmas season, singing here and there spreading the message of God’s love that is the Christmas season.

I received an e-mail that told of an elementary school’s Christmas program where the children held large cards with a single letter on them and it was C H R I S T M A S L O V E as each of the children came to the front with their cards the little girl with the M was holding it upside down and the audience was all murmuring until the last letter was in place and they saw
C H R I S T W A S L O V E

January, has been much of the same. We were blessed back in the beginning of the month with a trip to Masontown. Chalice and the Puppets were there for the weekend and those folks blessed us mightily in the Spirit of God. We have been to several other Churches and Care Homes where God’s sweet Spirit has gone before us and waited on us to get there and sharing was glorious.

Please pray for those who have witnessed us and have heard God’s voice. Please pray for those who have witnessed us and have not heard God’s voice for it is God’s voice that we use, God’s song that we sing and His Son that we share. Be and go with EMANUEL the Son of God.

A month or so ago, I asked a bunch of questions, somewhat rhetorically, but nonetheless I asked them. They had to do with passion. Who has it? And some of the Whys? I didn’t answer any of the questions, but I gave an example of a young man that has passion and he shows it. I would like to go back now and talk more about passion, not that I have the answers, but in talking some may gain some insight, clarity, maybe even some knowledge.

Do you have a PASSION? Is there something in your life that you care passionately about? Is it some thing you can share with others. Is it some thing that you just do? Let us view these questions against the teachings or at least my understanding of the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. Where is your heart? Do you have a treasure? Can you share it with others?

Mt 6:21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Is there something in your life that you mention to everyone you meet? Is it so well known about you that when you run into acquaintances and friends, they ask about it? What is it, family, children, grandchildren, sports, politics, God, weather, work? Do you have a hobby? Does it consume your time? Is it your treasure? I ask again do you have a passion/treasure, or do you spend your time your life in moderation in the mundain, niether hot or cold?

Re 3:15 – “‘I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were cold or hot! (I suggest you read chapter three to the end 15-22)

A brief editorial, there are very few people that have a passion that they are willing to share. Think about it. How many folks do you know, that fall into the following category? Here comes so-and -so, I’m going to have to listen to them talk about thus-and-so. You try and avoid bringing up the subject. Now I know that there are folks like this but are they really passionate or are they whiners and complainers. Still thinking about it, I can think of a couple. There is one fellow that is a right wing conservative. You really hate to bring politics up when he is around, because he has some very strong and passionate views regarding the right and his country. A concern and I think that this is where we need to start getting serious, is that if you do not share the passion. If you do not have any knowledge about the passion or subject you tend to feel uncomfortable even listening about it.

What is your passion? Do you have a passion? Is it God? If not why not? Aren’t we required to put God first? Is God; Father, Son and Holy Spirit your passion? Why not? Why don’t we have the knowledge about our God? Why don’t we have the knowledge about our Jesus? Why do we feel uncomfortable talking about and sharing our passion for the Lord Jesus Christ? If He is in fact our passion.

	1)	We don’t have that type of relationship in our lives. Not just with God and Jesus, but with anyone or anything.

	2)	We feel guilty because as we profess our Christianity, we are not really Christians. We say it with our lips but we do not say it with our hearts. We feel we don’t have the knowledge. (Knowledge – I’m not talking about chapter and verse I’m talking about knowing that God is our all in all. That Jesus is our Savior and that the Holy Spirit is in your heart and life to the point that no one or nothing can take it from you. I know that I know because, I know.) We haven’t empty ourselves and allowed God in. Our passion, our treasure, our hearts are not in it. We don’t have the relationship.

	3) We feel that it is personal and we don’t want to share it. Sounds selfish, again we don‘t have it to share.

	4)	We claim that we are not like that, it’s not my personality or my style. If you had a relationship, the knowledge, the passion, wouldn’t you through the power, grace and love of God, in the Holy Spirit share it. Isn’t that what we are called to do? Wouldn’t people be able to see the Light of God shining through you and about you, in everything you do?

	5)	That is not my gift. I’m not saying that we should all stand on the street corner, get ourselves behind a pulpit, radio, TV, in a ministry, but we should be able to share what we have with those we come in contact with. Again, they would have seen or felt the passion. Do we have it?

	6)	Are we seeking opportunities or do we shy away from them? We should be about the Lord’s work, let me make it clear that it should be God’s will and work, not ours, ( This will be a future rambling, God’s will and work in our passion/lives. ) each and everyday, every moment, every breath. If we were in a Bible study, Seminar, Class or dare I say it, “the proper setting“. When the question is asked I believe that most of us would respond in the proper manner. God is first on our list, above family and all else, and that we should be about His work. If we know this, then why don’t we do it? We do not even listen to our own hearts and obey? Trust our hearts to God, our treasure that is God, to God, to use and to do with as He wills.

Pray to the Lord God, Mighty God, Powerful and Loving God that your heart, your treasure, your passion would be fulfilled in the Lord Jesus Christ, in the Spirit of God. I pray this for you, I call on my God, the Awesome God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, that the Spirit would in fill you, bless you with the loving relationship, that you would be blessed beyond all measure (Luke 6:38a good measure–pressed down, shaken together, and running over. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return.”) and that your knowledge would be unshakeable and that you could with out fear, (God commands us to “Fear Not”) for God, in God, be passionate, sharing what He has done for you. I ask this in the Father, Son and through the Holy Spirit, Lord, let it be so.

Two hundred and twenty-nine (229) years ago our Founding-Fathers made some serious and passionate decisions regarding our great nation. The New World landscape changed, and at great cost to everyone, a new nation was born, The United States of America. This birth cost families much, sons, husbands, fathers, daughters, mothers, friends and complete strangers. Neighbors pitted against each other, even families were torn as to the side to take. States had to choose on their own courses and yet through all a great nation grew into existence.

Thursday, December 15, 2005, hundreds of thousands Iraq people, made some serious and passionate decisions regarding the birth of what they hope to be a great nation. They went out to vote. The cost again was and is great, we have all lost much, sons, husbands, fathers, daughters, mothers, friends and complete strangers. Neighbors pitted against each other, even families are torn as to the side to take. Our great Nation has yet to actually stand up as a unified body and declare this to be good.

It is in my opinion a right and noble thing. I was not able to be part of our nations birth, only in the rememberance of that great event. I am blessed and humbled to actually witness the great sacrifice made by so many in my name (a proud Christian and American) and I pray unceasingly that God will continue to bless all of us in this great struggle. I need to voice my support for those who have paid and continue to pay the ultimate price by showing their great love for one another, people they do not even know.

John 15:13 – No one has greater love than this, that someone would lay down his life for his friends.

What is it about youth and passion? Why is it that young people seem so much more passionate than others? Is it that as we get older, or should I say as we mature, we no longer have the energy, (not merely physically but mentally) we loose the desire? Have our desires been fulfilled? With age/maturity do we tend to plan prepare and organize our pursuits in such away that they lose their spontaneity and therefore seem to be less passionate? Is passion spontaneous or can it be otherwise?

Passion – depending on the dictionary you look at, has a number of meanings. The pair I checked, had the same first meaning – the sufferings of Christ Jesus between the night of the last super and His death. The second makes reference to an oratorio or oration based on the actual gospel accounts of this same time period. Interesting that the first few definitions have to do with God’s Son, our Lord Jesus. Only when you get down to the third and fourth definitions do we hear about emotions, feelings, love, ardent affections, and the like.

Let me tell you about a passionate young man that I have known for awhile. I’ve heard him speak several times. I have seen and heard about the activities he is about, all well intentioned and focused on one thing. The sharing of God’s Good News, God’s Word, God’s Son, Jesus Christ.

I had the occasion to hear him speak Sunday afternoon. It was an incredible thing to hear the passion (strong emotion, and love) in his voice as he proclaimed the Word of God through the power of the Holy Spirit present within him. He talked of the group he was working with at the church called “@patmos“. For it was on the Isle of Patmos that John received and wrote of the great and wonderful revelation, he received of God. This Young Man explained the significance of the name and the desire, prayers, hopes, dare I say again the passion, for the children and young adults, that they might also receive a life changing revelation of God. As they gathered and shared their lives in Christ Jesus, through the Holy Spirit, their lives would be changed and that all those that saw and heard Christ in them would also be changed.

I for one, will continue to watch, listen and pray that God continues to bless this Young man and as God does this (thank You God ), those he comes in contact with (me), will share in the blessings that spill out of his cup, that overflows with God’s grace and love. Many blessings to you, Lance and Amanda, as you move on in God’s will, your life’s ministry, blessings, blessings and more blessings.

The folks I talked to Saturday, that I didn’t know were there mostly as a result of seeing the signs, again most of them were from in and around the City of McKeesport.

All were blessed and many had wonder in their hearts at the fact that there were so few folk taking advantage of the wonderful day.

Now, that in itself is not exciting. However, let us consider the day according to the Word. Having SIGHT, (dictionary; sight – the ability to see.) Not the literal seeing the signs that announce the event, time and place, that got some folk there. The sight, the ability to see that the Holy Spirit was moving in our City and in their lives and that this was a time and a place to be in communion with fellow Christians and with the GREAT I AM, our Lord and Mighty God.
Isaiah 29:18 When that day comes, the deaf will be able to hear a book being read aloud, and the blind, who have been living in darkness, will open their eyes and see.
I pray that more of the folks of this City would have their eyes will be opened to things of God and those that seek him shall find Him.
Proverbs 8:17 “I love all who love me. Those who search for me will surely find me.
Matthew 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Bless all those who have ears to hear and eyes to see. Those that seek after Him, that the Glory of God would be about them, all the days of their lives.

What now can we do? Father help us to know and do Your will, even now I pray that You continue to bless us with Your will and way, that the Holy Spirit will help us to see, hear and do Your will more clearly.

Lord make it so.

Keep them from harm and allow them to be safe so that they can freely open their minds to the wonders of Your universe. As they study all that is needed to become well rounded individuals, help them not to forget You. May they act in Your will, please keep them from temptation, and deliver them from evil. So that You may be glorified in all that they do. Lord, let it be so.
