Read some FunFacts about Kris!
Kris Rhoades and her husband, Lou, are the founders of The Well Ministries and 2 of the 3 original members of Chalice.
A worship leader for The First Church of the Open Bible in McKeesport for over 10 years, she has always had a desire to share the Gospel Message in song and testimony. Currently she attends church at Praise Assembly of God in North Versailles.
Kris has been involved with music since she was about 10 years old when she started playing flute through the music program at school. She continued to play her flute through high school, being involved in the marching band and orchestra. In November 1999 she started playing keyboard for the Open Bible Church.
In March 1999 when Kris received a miraculous healing of depression, the Lord gave her a vision of the woman at the well and The Well Ministries was born. That was when they began publishing “The Well” — a publication of inspirational and encouraging stories, testimonies and poetry distributed free of charge.
Her greatest desire is to see people draw closer to the Lord, knowing His wonderful presence.
The parents of three children, their ministry has always been a “family” ministry. Their children have always been involved in ministry in one way or another, either singing, puppeteering, helping carry equipment, or working the product table. Their family grew in May 2004 when their oldest son, Lance, married Amanda Coddington, who actually is Gary’s daughter. (Many people think the kids met because Gary started singing with Chalice but actually Chalice met Gary because the kids were dating.) Now Lance and Mandi have blessed Kris, Lou and Gary with a grandchild, Selah, born September 2008.
