Goshen ongoing (part2) [0]
In my last communication I talked briefly about “The excitement, the anticipation, the sweet joy of being in the presence of the Lord.” I would like to explore the issue further. As faith believing Christians, there are many, many obstacles as Lou mentioned Friday. There are physical, mental and spiritual obstacles. One that I obstacle that we as a group (Kris, Lou and I ) we were able to overcome in a most dynamic way was our focus.
Again, I take you back to Saturday, August 13, 2005, we had already spent hours together and as we prepared ourselves for the day we started with prayer and continued throughout the day, in constant communication with God and the Holy Ghost. The three of us helped each other maintain that focus. There was only a brief time (the time it took to drive from the Motor Lodge to the High School maybe twenty minutes) that we were actually exposed to the outside world. I believe that the Prayer Warriors here in McKeesport had our backs covered in prayer and that helped greatly, but that is a whole other issue. Twenty minutes in the world and then we arrived at the High School which rapidly filled with Saints of God. The Lord took over that facility and dwelt among us. Everywhere you turned people were talking of the good things that God had done, is doing and the anticipation of what He will do. Satan didn’t have a chance there that day and I pray as the young high school students prepare to start their new school year that the Holy Spirit will remain in that place and defend and protect all that enter in.
I can not find the right words to describe the emotions of the day. So let me turn to the Word.
Matthew 6 (American Standard)
6:33But seek ye first his kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Matthew 6 (The New Living Translation)
6:33and he will give you all you need from day to day if you live for him and make the Kingdom of God your primary concern.
The desires of the heart are strong and I continue to strive to seek the Lord with all my heart, mind and soul. It is difficult when you are out there by yourself. In our humanness, our minds start to wander and satan’s minions have many sly ways getting in. Traffic, TV, radio, work, conversations that start out innocent enough and then you are gossiping, you are saying something unkind it just goes on and on. But that day, that weekend was just filled with our Glorious God and Father and I have been able thank You Jesus to carry it forward even to this day and I pray for you that you would seek the Lord in everything that you do and say and that in your seeking God would bless you mightily. That the Lord God, Father God, Powerful and Mighty God the GREAT I AM, would grant your heart’s desire.
