Presenting the Gospel of Jesus Christ through Song, Word and Testimony

2006 Gospel Sing [1]

This is our 6th year of hosting the Gospel Sing here at Renzie Park. I will admit that the first year we did this it was a bigger undertaking that what we thought it would be. But we made it through, it was successful and everyone had a great time. Then three days after our first event was the 9-11 tragedy.

Every year since then we take a few moments throughout the day to remember those who lost their lives 9-11-2001 and those who fought for others’ lives. We remember the tragedy but we remember that we have a God that is greater. This year, being the 5th anniversary of that tragedy, will be no different.

We have had some great themes over the past few years. This year’s theme, “Healing Waters” came to me back in the early spring when we went to Niagara Falls for a ministry trip. It is such an incredible site to see.

[thumb:500:r]Lou and I had been to Niagara Falls a few years ago. And I have heard him say many times during concerts how the site of the waterfall affected him that first trip. But it was when we were there again that I experienced that same awe of seeing that water continually pouring over the falls. 150,000 gallons of water per second travel over the American falls and 600,000 gallons per second travel over the Canadian falls.http://www.niagarafallslive.com/Facts_about_Niagara_Falls.htm Even in the dead of winter the water continues to flow over the falls. The top of the water may freeze, but underneath the water still flows. The flow of the water stopped only one time in 1848 when there was an ice jam in the upper river. The water continually pours and pours over the falls 24/7. No matter what, nothing stops it.

This is much like the love of God. He pours out His love on us 24/7. Whether you receive it or not is the question.

Today, God wants His healing power to flow like that river, non-stop, right where you are. Jesus healed the blind, the lame, the deaf, the emotionally disturbed, and the Bible says that we will do even greater than He did. Won’t you receive that healing water today?

    Hello Kris,

What a wonderful blog. Thank you for allowing the “Glassport Assembly of God Children’s Choir” to perform. What a blessed day that it was. Thank you for allowing some other solo performances as well. You know my story Kris.
It has been over 10 years since I have done a stage performance, because of my health, and even when my worst fear that my allergies would act up came true…you made sure that I felt welcome to sing for the Lord. I think that the good Lord sent a beautiful sound to the listeners, because they heard something different than what I sang…lol. I was so afraid of letting God down, and I told you this would be the deciding factor as to whether or not I open this chapter of my life back up for the Lord…well, I guess, God showed me. I was unable to hit the higher notes, because of my allergies, but, somehow, God gave the listeners a much different sound. I was extremely surprised at the beautiful comments that I received from strangers about my performance, because my husband knew that I was upset and about to cry. I really thought that I let God down, but He knew my heart. Well, you know what I mean…I could go on and on, but I will spare you. Your husband and you made me feel so special, and I will never forget it, and maybe I will just give it ALL to the Lord. I don’t think that this chapter is closed after all. I love you, and I have updated our Church’s site, so go to the gallery to take whatever pictures you want, or just to view. Our site will remain linked to yours, and I hope that is ok? I gave thanks for your Ministry on Sunday morning. Your a wonderful family, and you have a huge piece of my heart. Stay in touch, and I will see you next year!

    Love and God Bless Always!
    Debby Lloyd,
    Servant of the Lord Always!
